What is the Investor Work Visa?
The Investor Work Visa is designed for foreigners wishing to establish companies within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, such as Egyptians and others. This visa grants the individual the status of a company owner under a new system that allows non-Saudis to engage in commercial investment within the Kingdom.
Difference Between the Regular Work Visa and the Investor Visa
Both visas share some procedures, such as:
- Criminal record check
- Medical examination
- Fingerprinting
However, the Investor Visa differs in the following points:
- Commercial Registration: A certified Egyptian commercial registration from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required, along with a copy of the Saudi commercial registration. The investor’s name must appear in both records.
- Academic Qualification: The investor must hold a higher education degree.
- Visa Issuance: The visa is issued from Saudi Arabia with an official authorization for the clearance office, electronically certified.
- Centralized Procedures: These include filling out the NET form, booking appointments at the central offices, hospital reservation, fingerprinting, and professional qualification accreditation.
- Costs: The processing fees for the Investor Visa are higher than regular work visas, ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 EGP.
Advantages of the Investor Visa
It allows the applicant to submit the request personally at the embassy, unlike the regular work visa, which is usually processed through labor recruitment offices.
