Description

A leading engineering company executing major projects across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly qualified Electrical Engineer – Power Quality (LV & MV) with 5–10 years of experience in industrial and utility environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, commissioning, and troubleshooting power quality solutions for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems. The role includes active harmonic filters, reactive power compensation, field measurements, electrical studies, commissioning, and technical support while ensuring compliance with international standards and Saudi utility regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze, diagnose, and resolve LV & MV power quality issues including harmonics, voltage sags, swells, flicker, transients, voltage imbalance, and poor power factor.
Design, size, configure, and commission Active Harmonic Filters (AHF) and controller systems.
Prepare and review electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, protection schemes, and design documentation.
Select and verify Current Transformers (CTs) and Voltage/Potential Transformers (VTs/PTs) for protection, metering, and monitoring.
Conduct on-site power quality measurements using advanced analyzers and monitoring equipment.
Analyze recorded electrical data and prepare detailed technical reports with corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with IEEE 519, IEC 61000, EN 50160, SEC regulations, and Saudi Grid Code.
Support SCADA integration, protection systems, and metering applications.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
Participate in FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning, and final project handover.
Support engineering teams during project execution.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
5–10 years of experience in Power Quality Engineering.
Experience in industrial plants and utility projects.
Strong knowledge of LV & MV electrical systems.
Hands-on experience with Active Harmonic Filters (AHF).
Experience in Reactive Power Compensation systems.
Strong knowledge of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
Experience with CTs, VTs/PTs, protection and metering systems.
Experience using Power Quality Analyzers.
Knowledge of IEEE 519, IEC 61000, EN 50160, Saudi Grid Code, and SEC requirements.
Experience in FAT, SAT, Testing & Commissioning.
Experience with ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory is preferred.
Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is preferred.
Excellent English language skills.
Arabic language.
Valid Saudi driving license is preferred.
Willingness to travel across Saudi Arabia.
